Anti-Wrinkle Injections

about our

Anti Wrinkle Treatments

Anti-Wrinkle is a drug that is injected into the muscle and blocks the signal from the nerves to the muscles so the treated muscle can’t contract. This causes wrinkles to relax and soften. Anti-Wrinkle is a popular treatment most often used on forehead lines, crow’s feet (lines around the eye), bunny lines (lines along the side of the nose) and frown lines.

It can take 72 hours for the anti-wrinkle treatment to begin to take effect. It can take as long as 15 days for the full effects to show.  They may last 3–12 months, depending on the brand used and your own metabolism.

Dr Miriam Nicola is a qualified Cosmetic Doctor and will be performing all anti-wrinkle treatments in Rockdale, Sydney.

5 Key Anti- Wrinkle Treatment Benefits

Anti-wrinkle injections are an incredibly effective and minimally invasive treatment approach to deal with unwanted lines and wrinkles.

  • Anti- Wrinkle Treatments are Preventative– some of us have a naturally expressive face which anti-wrinkle injections can help to soften the appearance of these expression lines preventing them getting deeper over time

  • Shape and Symmetry– anti-wrinkle injections can be used to open the eye area by lifting the brow and reducing a gummy smile

  • Minimise the Signs of Ageing – By reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

  • Self Confidence Boost – most patients report a confidence boost and feeling less self-conscious after anti-wrinkle injections

 Treatments We Offer?

Some anti-wrinkle injectables work slightly quicker than other brands but might not last as long. Costs may also be greater for the longer lasting brand. The most well-known brands advertise lasting up to 4 months.

One particular brand contains no additives and thus does not require refrigeration. Some have suggested that people are less likely to become resistant to this brand of anti-wrinkle injection because of its purity. Most brands are made from botulinum toxin type A, while one available brand contains botulinum toxin type B. Some have suggested that botulinum type B may help with people who’ve become immune to botulinum type A.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is an injectable cosmetic treatment used to effectively reduce fine lines and wrinkles on the face. The most common one is Botox, but there are also other well-known brand names for the same type of product, such as Dysport® or Xeomin®.
Cosmetic injections are approved for use on
• Crow’s feet around the eyes
• Horizontal lines on the forehead
• Wrinkles between the eyebrows

Any injection can hurt, but the needles used for anti-wrinkle injections are very small, so pain is usually minimal. At Ashton Aesthetics, we offer distractors from the pain such as ice packs or even numbing cream, so you may not feel much pain, if anything at all!

Receiving too much agent in the wrong places, can make your face look “frozen” or expressionless. At Ashton Aesthetics, Dr Miriam Nicola is experienced in making you look just like your normal self–just noticeably more youthful and refreshed!

The amount of injectable you’ll need depends entirely on a few contributing factors. These include:
• The type of wrinkles you’d like to treat
• Your unique aesthetic goals
• The degree of muscle movement in your face
• The number of times you’ve had anti-wrinkle in the past
• Your health history

People easily get these two types of injectables confused all the time, but here’s an easy way to distinguish between the two: anti-wrinkle agents are for limiting muscle movement, fillers are for building volume.
An anti-wrinkle agent reduces the activity of muscles in the face that cause wrinkles. Facial fillers, however, fill the trouble areas with a gel made up of hyaluronic acid, which helps to plump and lift the skin to replace volume loss.
